Summary:
The Marine Technology Society Journal special issue, Advancing Oil Spill Technology: Beyond the Horizon, resulted from the convergence of technology interests in February 2018, when the TechSurge workshop, Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill and Ecosystem Science (GoMOSES) Conference, and Underwater Intervention Conference occurred simultaneously in New Orleans, Louisiana. The more than 100 TechSurge workshop participants represented a unique draw from those attending the two conferences, and they felt that there was value in sharing technology related to oil spill research with a broader audience.
This issue was published as Volume 52, Number 6, November/December 2018 of the Marine Technology Society Journal.
