Summary:
General Summary. Our report presents findings of a GIS (spatial) analysis of the survey responses of business owners throughout southern Louisiana who were potentially affected by the 10 BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. It begins with a background of the survey data and the preparation of ancillary datasets, explains general spatial trends and patterns in the survey data, and answers 29 specific geographical questions about the survey data through GIS analyses, maps, graphs and tables. Explanations for the patterns are also offered. All GIS databases involved in the calculations are also available. Methods have been developed to take into account spatial dependence of the data.
